CITY OF HEATH Department of Public Works Accepting applications for Construction Inspector Under general supervision, performs specialized technical work inspecting private and public infrastructure construction for compliance with local, State, and Federal standards. Work involves ensuring construction projects meet with City specifications and standards; reviewing submittals for materials and mix designs; reviews right-of-way permits; driveway permits; reviewing excavation permits; coordinating with other City departments to install electric conduits; installing street signs; and scheduling water main shut down and tie-ins. Responsibilities include maintaining assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment and to provide complex staff assistance to senior management personnel. Works as construction inspector on new streets, storm drainage, water and sanitary sewer lines, for new subdivisions and City capital improvement program.
High School diploma or GED and five years of experience in construction inspection; and/or maintenance of roadways, drainage, sidewalks and other City facilities; or a combination of experience.
Reports to the Director of Public Works. Pay Group 12 starting at $65,890.47 per year (DOQ) plus benefits
