This position works under the direct supervision of the Public Works Director to perform semi- skilled and skilled maintenance work, inspections, equipment operation and assists with the stormwater management plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct site inspections for compliance with the SWPPP and city stormwater management ordinance.
Assist with TCEQ and EPA audits and compliance record management.
Perform all functions of an equipment operator when deemed necessary.
Operate light, medium and heavy equipment. Operate mowing equipment including hand tools, backhoe and trailer.
Conduct post construction and citywide inspections for illicit discharge detection.
Education and Experience
Two (2) years of construction /Maintenance or repair experience.
Equipment operation experience.
Graduation from high school or completion of GED or equivalent.
Knowledge of Storm Water Management plan operations under MS4.
Must possess a valid Texas drivers license
Ability to complete storm water training and required by TCEQ.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of operation of all heavy equipment utilized in the Public Works department.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees.
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Intermittent periods of standing, sitting, and walking
Ability to lift, carry, push an/or pull greater than 50 pounds.
May require infrequent lifting of greater than 100 pounds.
Constant use of protective footwear, eyewear, and use of reflective clothing.
