A Sr. Professional Engineer position is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department’s Capital Delivery Division to lead teams in the development and project initiation of complex capital infrastructure projects which are primarily stormwater-related but could include streets, traffic improvements, waterlines, sewer lines, paving, streetlights, signals, bridges, railroad crossings, and other infrastructure features.
The candidate must have a strong technical background, be a problem solver, able to work within tight time constraints, be able to work independently under the direction of an Engineering Manager, have strong interpersonal and leadership skills and possess good oral and written communication skills.
A significant amount of contact with the public will be required. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with City officials, residents, commercial entities, and other agencies.
Pay Range From $81,548 - $106,012 DOQ
The Sr. Professional Engineer job responsibilities include:
·Responsible for performing professional civil engineering work.
·Leading teams to evaluate stormwater-related issues.
·Develop the scope, schedule, and budget for stormwater infrastructure capital improvement projects to address these issues.
·Tasks will include managing consultants, reviewing consultant plans and specifications, conducting public meetings, reviewing contracts, amendments, and invoices, and performing other tasks as needed.
·Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field and
·Three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience as a registered professional engineer
·Two (2) years must relate to infrastructure capital improvement projects (may overlap).
·Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas within six months of employment.
·Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas Driver’s License.
·Four (4) years of experience in stormwater management, such as hydrologic and hydraulic studies, drainage and grading design, stormwater system modelling and planning, floodplain modelling, or infrastructure design experience
·Two (2) years of experience in infrastructure capital projects, such as design or project delivery, of stormwater, street, traffic control, and water and wastewater facilities projects. May overlap with 4 years of stormwater management experience.
·Experience with FEMA regulations and floodplain permitting.
·Understanding of the PMBOK, an industry-recognized project management standard.
·Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point and Adobe Pro
·Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, and produce deliverables on time and within budget.
·Strong history of delivering exceptional customer service.
·Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and effectively.
