The City of Fulshear has an immediate opening for a City Engineer. Under the general direction of the Public Works Director, the City Engineer performs duties and makes decisions independently; highly responsible administrative and supervisory work in the direction of the City's Public Works Department. Serves as the City’s representative as City Engineer and serves as Engineering advisor to the Public Works Director, the City Manager, City Council and to the Director of Development Services. Works and receives guidelines from state and federal regulations and City ordinances, professional standards, City Manager, Public Works Director, and Council priorities. Provides project management for Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) projects and performs plat and plan reviews of all development and planned improvements. Collaborates with senior management, consulting engineers, and end-users to ensure project requirements are gathered, goals for the project are established and the project delivery is monitored to meet the identified results. Supervision is exercised directly or through subordinates over professional and clerical staff assigned to the department.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; minimum of five (5) years’ experience in civil engineering with major emphasis in municipal drainage systems and infrastructure. Texas registered Professional Engineer with a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in public works, public utilities and project management.
